What is Re:Void

Re:Void is a text-based roleplaying world built out of nessecity, inspiration, and loneliness. You are not a hero. You are not some empty thing to be cast aside.

You are a memory given flesh — a fragment of something that refused to stop existing.

In this patch of void, the rules of before mean nothing.

Reality is sculpted in prose and ink. Factions form not only for war, but for family and companionship.

This is not some game you win. This is a world you haunt.

A spell went awry....

Hey everyone — your neighborhood witch here, writing to you from a cloud of very embarrassed smoke.

So. You may have logged in recently to find things looking a little... sparse. Rooms gone, posts vanished, characters blinking in the void. That was my fault. A deployment spell went sideways during some behind-the-scenes work, and the cauldron took the database with it when it tipped over.

I am so, genuinely sorry. I know some of you had put real time and care into what was here, and losing that is not a small thing. You deserved better and I'll do better.

The good news: the code itself is in better shape than it's ever been. The housing system, teleport, Durgin down at the market, all the new bits — they're all here and working. We're rebuilding on a cleaner foundation.

If you had a character here before, reach out to staff and we'll do what we can to restore what we remember. The world is small right now, but it's warm, and you're welcome back in it whenever you're ready.

Thank you for your patience with me. I'll try to spill fewer cauldrons going forward.

🏠 Housing

  • Players can now purchase and own personal rooms through Durgin Ironwood at the market.
  • home — teleports you to your personal room.
  • sethome — sets your current room as your home.
  • housing list — view all rooms you own.
  • housing dig — add new rooms to your home.
  • housing lock/unlock — control who can enter.
  • housing friend/unfriend — grant access to specific characters.

✈️ Teleport

  • jump <player> — teleport to another player (requires their consent).
  • summon <player> — bring another player to you (requires their consent).

  • Consent flags for jump and summon can be managed through the consent command.

🧙 Durgin Ironwood

  • Re:Void's first scripted NPC is now in the market.
  • Chat with him naturally — he responds to greetings, questions about housing, and purchase requests.
  • Say "buy tent" or "buy room" to get started with housing.

💌 O'grams

  • Send in-game messages to other characters via the ogram command.
  • Read your mail on the website — inbox, outbox, compose, and staff contact all available.

📰 News & Forum

  • Staff news posts now appear on the homepage.
  • The forum is live — browse by category, start threads, and reply.

💰 Economy

  • Shards are Re:Void's currency. Check your balance with wallet.
  • pay <player> <amount> and tip <player> for transfers.
  • A small allowance is delivered automatically when you log in.

🎨 Appearance & Freeform

  • Wardrobe and zone tools are available via the website for managing your look.
  • The place command now supports covering layers and freeform item editing.

🔧 Fixes & Polish

  • Fixed a bug where blank lines were being stripped from descriptions in the text editor.
  • Various stability and quality-of-life improvements throughout.

SITE DESIGN — Full Visual Overhaul

Complete rewrite of all frontend styles to match the Re:Void design. Replaced the default Evennia theme entirely.

  • New fonts: Josefin Sans (body), Pirata One (logo), Cinzel Decorative (headings)
  • Full CSS variable system for consistent theming
  • Glassmorphism panels with backdrop blur and inner glow
  • Custom nav bar replacing Bootstrap — dot separators, user dropdown, no page reload

BACKGROUND & ATMOSPHERE

  • Layered background: solid black at the top fading gradually into deep purple
  • Animated starfield — 70 twinkling particles fixed to the viewport
  • Six semi-transparent purple drips falling from the top of every page
  • Cursor sparkle trail on mouse movement
  • Scrolling ticker bar at the top of every page

NEWS SYSTEM

News posts are now managed through the database rather than hardcoded into the site templates. Staff can add, edit, archive, and delete posts from the content panel at /manage/ without touching any code.


WISP SYSTEM

  • Accounts now exist as wisps in the world before entering a character
  • Log in and drift through rooms as a spectral presence
  • Step into your character when ready — your place in the world persists between sessions

DESCRIPTION SYSTEM

Zone tokens are live. Embed dynamic body description fragments directly into your physical desc — {zone:hair}, {zone:hands}, and more resolve at look-time. Freeform items layer over zones without replacing them.


WORLD

  • The Forming is live as the starting zone
